"...The course was excellent and the tutors were incredibly enthusiastic, good humoured and professional. It is challenging and intensive but the resources and general support I received was amazing. It is great for a teacher who wants to explore another area of the profession, someone who wants a career change or a new graduate looking for a challenge. Do not think it`s easy though - It is intensive: hard work and you have to be prepared for a lot of observations and assignments. It is worth it though - I found it hard but helped me enormously even though I had already taught abroad and people who hadn't`t turned out to be great teachers! I highly recommend Clare particularly for the support you get there from tutors who are excellent teachers, have lovely personalities and are really approachable if you have any questions or need extra help. I honestly couldn't`t recommend it enough. I am really glad I did the course."

"...I was part of the Clare Language Centre’s CELT evening-course in 2007/08. I had intended on undertaking a TEFL course for a couple of years as I’m quite an adventurous person and anticipated using it primarily for travel purposes. Since qualifying in May 2008 I have yet to use the qualification professionally yet, on a whole, I strongly believe that I have gained significantly from it; I feel that I have become a much more confident and competent person through confronting any fears I had on speaking in public, and in a sense, having to ‘perform’ in front of my classmates. This was a course that challenged my well-entrenched knowledge of the English language on all fronts, and left me ultimately much more knowledgeable on, and confident in, the subject.
The course is taught in a relaxed and informal environment yet the classes are extraordinarily interactive and informative. I was extremely impressed by the friendly yet professional approach of the course tutors who not only covered all the necessary aspects of teaching English as a foreign language in the short time given, but did so in a fashion where people felt at ease to ask questions and involve themselves. The teaching practice, although unnerving at times, was always hugely positive and the constructive criticism that was given during the personal reviews that followed each session was always done with the highest degree of tact and grace.
I would recommend this course to anyone, especially those who have some spare time on their hands and wish to challenge themselves and/or increase their self-assurance. Here you will discover a whole array of ability you may have never known before."

It was never a chore and i looked forward with relish to the myriad of lectures, sessions, role-plays and of course teaching practices presented for us by the team at CLC.
